Good Word for Today!!

PSALMS 40:4

Blessed is the man that maketh the Lord his trust, and respecteth not the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies.

Today it seems we give honor to people who do not deserve it and we do not to those who do. It is like we no longer know what is worthy of honor. We honor Celebrities of all kinds who live the most wicked of lives. So much of our culture is caught up in their sinful world. Now everyday people want to live just like them so in our society is perfectly fine now to behave in all sorts of sinful ways that will eventually destroy us. We reap what we sow plain and simple and people living these wild lives pay a high price. A very high price.

It is almost amusing as our knowledge and information has greatly increased we have somehow forgotten things that we have always known since the beginning of time. Things like Adultery is a terrible sin. Homosexuality isn't normal. Killing a child in a mother's womb is murder. Wake up people don't idolize people who are Jezebels, dope fiends and perverts!

Benefits of the Word

Psalm 119 verse 105

Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.

I am convinced that the vast majority of Christians today don't spend 5 minutes a day in God's word. We have plenty of excuses and reasons for it from no time to lack of understanding. The Bible does many things and one thing it does is guide us and without that guide we end up going down the wrong road in life. Let God's word lead you and guide you in the way you should go. I promise you it will lead you to the place you want to go.

What Jesus said to the accusers

John 8:7 So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him cast a stone at her.

As I read this, this morning it dawned on me that Jesus was speaking to the church as well as the Pharisees here. It seems as though most church people are not very forgiving and are quick to condemn those in sin and treat them angrily. In Luke 7:47 We learn that people who are forgiven much love much, but those that are forgiven little love little. If you think on it that's very true. People who haven't had to be forgiven for much cannot understand people who have been out in the world and had to fight the devil. People that have been in a bad way, appreciate God's goodness and mercy so much that they want to see that in other's lives.

Which ever category you fall into remember Jesus gave us a new commandment that we love one another as he has loved us in John 13:34 this is non-negotiable!

Memorial Day Scripture

As you remember your loved ones that have passed this weekend I wanted to remind you of First Corinthians Chapter 15 Verse 55

O Death where is thy sting? O grave where is thy victory?

When you visit the grave this weekend remember this.

They are either in Heaven or Hell right now.

You will someday be there too so make plans for it.

Everyone you meet, everyone you know, everyone you LOVE will one day be either in Heaven or Hell and if it's Hell and you've done nothing about it how will you live with yourself if you have to stand over their grave one day!

I know this is a hard thing to read, but I do not apologize for it. My prayer is it will encourage someone to speak to someon about the Lord, who knows it may just be me.

Isiah 66:13

As one whom his mother comforteth, so will I comfort you; and ye shall be comforted in Jerusalem.

Only our Heavenly Father can comfort us more than our mother.

Is it a Miracle?

I have something that I think is very exciting to share, My most favorite actor of all time is Michael Mahonen who played Gus Pike in the Road to Avonlea series. Well through the magic of Facebook I have become friends with him and even gotten to converse with him and some other people he is friends with who are in show business some of them published authors! To me this is already a miracle in and of itself, but is God showing me that through them either directly or indirectly some door may open for me in the future? Now I would never ever approach them and ask for help, but you never know they may offer in the future, but I understand they most likely will not, but at the very least it has opened my eyes to show me that God just may open a door for me in the future. I mean imagine if you had been talking with your favorite celebrity! You can see clips of this show on my life story blog. Just search the archives till you see Gus and Felicity or Avonlea, the show is great!

The Potter's Hand

Jeremiah 18:4

And the vessel that he made of clay was marred in the hand of the potter: so he made it again another vessel, as seemed good to the potter to make it.

How many of us have been just like clay in the potter's hand? Our life marred by some unforeseen, unmanageable tragedy. And just like clay on a potter's wheel our life goes spinning out of control until were left with just a mess where once we had dreams, goals and faith. But God uses those times to make us again a new vessel, the trick is not to get so hurt or sad that you just give up I feel I am speaking to someone here (who knows maybe just myself)but God can and will make you again even many times over a new vessel even stronger and better than you were before!

Proof the end time is near

Thousands of years ago prophets of God wrote about the end of times and they gave us several signs to look for. Now some of those signs could've occurred and have occurred all through history. All through history there have been wars and earthquakes, disease and famine, all though not on today's scale. Still we know the Bible says that in the last days there will be an explosion of knowledge.(Daniel 12:4) Now from the time of Christ life was pretty similar but in the last 100 years the world has changed greatly. But in Revelation 13:17-18 we learn of something that at no other time in history could've happened. It must've seen preposterous to say there will be a time when money will no longer be needed, but we are living in that day now with debit and credit cards and online banking there is no longer any reason to carry cash in fact it can be made to look foolish on TV ads. The children of today will know no different and will not question a cashless society it will seem like the smart thing to do. Years ago I attended a youth conference where they spoke of a new debit card called the Marc card it stood for multi automated reader card and this card had all your accounts on it even your mortgage and car loans. I don't know when of course, but I know the time is nigh come to Jesus today!

Revelation 13:17
And that no man might buy or sell, save that he had the mark,or the name of the beast,or the number of his name
13:18
Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast:for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six Hundred threescore and six.

My Favorite Preacher

Now I know there is a lot of controversy about Joel Osteen and I understand that. But his father who passed away in 1999 has taught me more than anyone else in my life. I have tried to find videos of him, but they are now rare. I wanted to share this because he has been such a blessing and whether you like or dislike Joel I feel confident you will love his father!

Prayer Request Update

I heard from Lou Anne yesterday that is on te prayer list and she was having a bad day yesterday please keep her in your prayers and it would mean so much if you would go to Topix.com and type in 40422 and in the Danville,Ky. forum type in the daily verse there you will be able to send Lou Anne an encouraging message that will give her strength as she battles Cancer. You can do that.....can't you?

It only takes a second.

As I was driving home this morning from work it was very foggy outside and I saw several drivers that were speeding and didn't have their lights on and I saw as a result of that some pretty close calls, it dawned on me then that it only takes a few seconds for you to slip into eternity, and it only takes a few seconds to change your eternity. If you have clicked into this site and are reading this and you do not know the Lord Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Saviour than it is no accident. God has drawn you here and is knocking at yout hearts door it only takes a second to ask him in and it will change your entire eternity. Do it before it's too late!

Have you laughed today?

I guess it seems out of character for me to have started a Comedy Blog, everyone thinks I sound so serious all the time, but actually I love to laugh. Yesterday I was in a restaurant in Knoxville, Tn. and several tables over there was a little girl about 4 or 5 who got the giggles and I mean she was really tickled. Her mother didn't want to disturb other people so she sweetly tried to get the child to calm down and the child did try. Now up to that point I was in a bad mood over the service and the food, but that laughter was infectious and made me feel so much better, not to mention it was precious sounding. Laughter is important even the Bible tells us in Proverbs 17:22 A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones. So if you haven't laughed today click on my comedy blog and watch the video of Natalie being silly it is sure to put a smile n your face.

She has had no contact with her paternal grandfather and I myself have had very little contact with him or his side of the family. Now I believe God wants me to attend church where some of his family goes and to be honest I don't want to I need strength and guidance.

Please take these prayer requests to heart and lift them up to the throne. Don't just skip past them, that's one of the problems we Christians have today. Your prayers do make a difference a big difference!

Sneek Peak

My next post will be on the signs of the times and I will show proof that this generation may be the one to see the rapture of the church!

Do you tithe?

Now relax I don't take up offerings here (yet...lol) I am just a regular person like you who doesn't benefit financially in any way (except for when people click on the ads that are on the blogs) but I have learned something I feel led to share. I get paid of Fridays and it is directly deposited ( a sign of the end times...cashless society) and today I found out I have a 100 in my account more than I should, now I am meticulous in my funds as I try to be a good steward so I know that is a mistake but after going through all my transactions for the past 6 weeks the clerk assures me it's mine so I just say thank you Lord and go on. I used to not really believe in things like this, but it can happen. When you give to God you prosper so much more than if you don't. You don't spend as much on items, you get deals on things, items last you longer and I have a couple of verses to back this up.

2ND Corinthians 9:6
But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall also reap bountifully.

You see when you give with a small amount in act of stinginess than the blessing or the return is small to match it, but when you sew bountifully you reap a bountiful harvest. Now the amount is not important God knows if you are just giving because you feel like you have to or if you are giving because you want to be a blessing to God and his kingdom.

Luke 6:38

Give and it shall be given unto you; good measure pressed down and shaken together, and running over, shall men give unto your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.

You see it is by our standard of meausre that determines our own financial blessings so, ask yourself this how important is it to you that people hear the Gospel, and do you put your money where your mouth is? If not who knows what financial blessings you may be missing out on.

Creation Museum Trip

For those of you in the Southern Kentucky area there is a trip this upcoming Saturday the 24rth to the Creation Museum leaving Somerset at 5 am from the grounds of WTHL radio. Tickets are 20 for adults and 14 for children. If interested please contact the radio statin at 606-679-6300 or go online at kingofkingsradio.com. I think that as Christians it is vital that we be able to express our beliefs with intelligience and that our young ones understand why we believe in creationism instead of evolution and have something to back it up with when persecuted. Natalie and I will be attending and would love to meet you.

Abortion

Recently, God has been dealing with me on the issue of Abortion. I feel I NEED to do something to try and make a difference. So I would appreciate it if any of you have any suggestions on how we coul use the blog to make a difference. I do intend to make regular posts about the importance of adoption and how the prospective mother will never heal from an abortion. I would like to do more though, I just don't know what yet so send me some ideas. Thank you!

I just feel like sharing this

As I write these blogs in hopes of becoming a writer I am trying to write each post in a way that will grab your attention and either entertain or educate you depending on what the subject may be, and to truly be successful at this I need to be able to communicate my thoughts and feelings very well or it will never work. I wanted to share with you something that happened a few years ago. I guess it started shortly after I was married, and I THINK it was due to my marriage, but for whatever reason satan attacked my speech. I COULD NOT express my thoughts or feelings at all. It was though I fumbled over my words and couldn't put my sentences together. It was a very hard thing to go through and I felt ashamed, and unintelligent. Finally in 2003 when I took my first English class I began to see improvement and by 2007 I began thinking that maybe I COULD write and that is what has brought me to this point. More and more I am having faith that I will one day be a writer, and I am starting to realize I already am one.

I need your prayers

Yesterday in church I believe it was made clear to me that God wants me to go back to the church where I was saved. For the last few weeks I have been searching for a church I could work in. I never considered this church due to my family and trying to keep Natalie away from all that mess. I DO NOT want to do this! But I am also afraid to not do what I think God wants me to. Please pray for me!

What is faith?

Hebrew 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Very simple huh? Do you have faith? Do you believe God for the things in your life that you hope for, but do not see at this time? That is a very deep question. Much deeper than I have ever really understood. If we believe it will affect our actions and our outlooks. Are we preparing making ready so to speak for the harvest we are seeking for? Ask yourself this question and really search out the answer.

Does anybody care?..... Do you?

Years ago I hear a sainted old preacher tell this story and it has always stuck with me. Today as I was napping (I work 16 hour days I am entitled) God woke me up with this memory and I felt truly led to post it here. It seems this preacher had a vision one day of a vast field with acres and acres, and on this land were untold thousands of people in all sorts of pain and anguish, some very grotesquely disfigured. Their were burn victims, amputees, bruised and battered children even. All of them crying out in pain and agony. The sound was deafening, the stench was gut wrenching and the sight was heart breaking. The preacher said he began to cry and call out to God. "Why God Why?" Why all this suffering?..... He said there was silence as from Heaven came God's own voice saying "It's because nobody care." The preacher cried out "I care, I care if nobody else cares I care! Then in his vision he went about laying hands on the people and seeing them recover. In his vision he saw new arms and legs grow he saw burned skin become smooth, he saw children who once were crippled run and play. You know if we all truly cared we could stop so much pain and sorrow in this world if we wereen't so wrapped up in ourselves. If the church truly cared about people there would be no limit to what we would do. Think about it.

Why do people backslide?

Now I don't wish to start a debate about backsliding In Hosea 14:4 it says: I will heal their backsliding so I believe it exists for that reason alone, but also because I have seen it happen to people. I believe though these two verses will enlighten us. We read in Daniel 11:32 that those that do know their God shall be strong and do might exploits. And in Hosea 4:6 it very plainly states " my people perish for lack of knowledge". So the best way I know to cure backsliding is to stay in the word. As you learn more about God from the word your love for him will grow, your faith will grow and your concern for others will grow and you will become a better worker for the Lord. Get in the word today!

Why are we here?

Have you ever asked this question? It can seem like a hopeless cause to try and find the answer. I mean the choices are nearly endless. I may not know the exact reason we are here, but one thing I do know is that it is not so that we can worry. I think that worry is one of the biggest attacks Satan throws at us. He knows if he can get our minds on worry, that he has accomplished a-lot. Not only has he stolen our time and creativity. He has severely wounded our faith and that is very detrimental to the outcomes of our lives. And certainly worry and stress has a major impact on the well being of our bodies physically. I was amazed about 12 years or so ago when I was the youth leader at the Tateville Church of God of Prophecy, we held a lock in one night and we had about 15 young people in attendance. I felt led during one of the devotion times to talk about worry to these young kids ages 10 to 15. I asked a simple question to this group while every head was bowed and every eye shut. I asked them if the devil fought their minds with worry. Every child raised their hands and more than half confirmed that they spent more time on worry than anting else. satan was robbing these children of their youth. Be strong and of good courage. God tells us over and over in the Bible to fear not!! In one place he said it does us no good to worry that by doing so we can't change anything anyway. Give all your cares, troubles, woes and worries to him today and take a long sigh of relief as your faith begins to grow and you know that God will work it all out for your good!

Isn't it amazing!

I think it is amazing how we justify our sins. For example, I once took a mop from work because they were going to throw it away. Now some would say that since the company didn't want the mop anymore it wasn't stealing. But I believe that it was stealing because I didn't ask permission for it, so in fact, it was stealing. I have noticed how in today's world we try to justify our sins away. It seems as though there is no difference in us Christians and the world today. Like for example Divorce and remarriage is widely accepted no matter the reason, drinking is o.k., watching dirty movies is o.k.,cursing is o.k.,and so is a host of other sins and we try and justify it all away. There is no substitute for living a holy life! Now I don't always measure up either, but I am trying to at least acknowledge my sin so I can ask for forgiveness, that is the real danger in sugarcoating our sin, because when we justify our sin we don't repent from it and it stands in our way from God's greatest blessing for our lives. And why do we do it? God is not fooled he knows what we have done and if we fall short of our calling he knows it. So just man up so to speak and face your sin and repent and watch God's forgiveness transform your life!!

Precious Promise

How many of you are tired? I dare say 95 percent of Adults are tired in today's fast paced hectic world. Well have I got some good news for you! Take comfort in this verse and use it to rejuvenate yourself. Just pray and use this verse as your authority and God will give you rest even when you haven't been able to rest.

Jesus said in

Matthew 11:28 Come unto me all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

29: Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.

30: For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light

Why anyone can achieve their dreams

If you are like me you had many dreams for yourself growing up as a child. And then somehow one by one they fell by the wayside for whatever reason. Wouldn't it be great if there was a way that we could recapture the optimism of our youth? You know what? We can! We just have to break out of our comfort zones and shake things up a bit and regain our faith in God! Anytime we suffer any kind of setback it can damage our faith, and let's face it honestly sometimes we even lose the belief that God is a rewarder of those that diligently seek him. It's almost like as we grow up we think we know better right? Wrong! As I getting even older I am realizing more and more it was me that gave up on my dreams not God saying no! It was me who just got tired of seeking. Didn't he say seek and you shall find? Well to seek something means you got to go after it and hunt for it because you don't know exactly where it is, you just know it is out there. God tells us in John 10:10 that he wants us to have an abundant life that it is the devil who tries to tear it all away from us, yet somehow we want to blame God when we don't achieve our dreams. We need to get good and mad at the devil for once and make him wish he had left us alone. (We do this by witnessing to and loving others and doing everything in our power for God). God promised us that he would give us the desires of our heart so that our joy may be full if we delight in him. So just do that !Delight in him with all your heart do everything in your power, go the extra mile to show God your appreciation in your life for what he has done for you and watch the things you desire be open unto you! Little things I do is I play my gospel music so other drivers can hear it, I always stand in church during song service or during the reading of the word, I always pray for the people in Ambulances. I try and tell people about Jesus. I daily tell God thank you. I make him priority in my life, after all he is Lord.... right?

Not of works

Ephesians 2:8,9

8:For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

9:Not of works, lest any man should boast.

So many people who live basically a moral life believe that because they are good decent people they are somehow immune from the fires of hell. We cannot save ourselves. If we could Jesus would never have had to die on the cross. Human nature is innately evil, and has been since the beginning of time. You have only to turn on the TV to see how wicked and perverse we truly are. Yet Jeus made a way we could become born again. By faith we accept the Lord trusting in his work on the cross and the second we ask him in our heart we notice a big change! It is his gift to us and we have no right to boast about our percieved holiness. It is Christ in us that is the difference. Trust his saving grace today just simply ask him in your heart and he will come in and be with you until the very end and then for all eternity!

The old violin

I just felt led to share this again. I pray it is a blessing.
The Old Violin
Twas battered and scarred and the auctioneer thought it scarcely worth his wile
to auction off the old violin, but he held it up with a smile.
What is my bidding for the old violin? Who'll start the bidding for me?
One dollar two or three?
But no from the room far back a grey haired man came forward and he picked it up with the bow
and dusting off the old violin and tightening the strings he played a melody as smooth and sweet
as an angel would sing.
The music ceased and the auctioneer said with a voice that was quiet and low
what is my bidding for the old violin as he held it up with the bow
1000, 2000, 3000 going and gone cried he!!
The crowd cheered, but some of them cried
We don't quite understand what changed it's worth?
Quick came the reply the touch of the Master's hand!
And many a man with life out of tune and torn and battered by sin
is auctioned off to that thoughtless crowd much like that old violin.
A mess of porridge, a glass of wine, a game and he travels on
he is going once he is going twice he is going and he is almost gone.
But then the Master comes, then the Master comes then
Jesus arrives on the scene.
And the thoughtless crowd never can quite understand
the worth of a soul and the change that is wrought
by the touch of the Master's hand!!!

Do you know his voice?

Has this ever happened to you?
Have you ever heard the Lord speak to your heart. In that instant you know it is him speaking directly to you. You know that you have heard from Heaven and you realize a glimpse of how awesome that truly is. Has this happened to you? If it has you know how precious those moments are. How sacred and amazing it is. Now for me it doesn't happen often only a handful of times, but I am truly thankful for each experience. When God speaks to your heart it is a very profound experience. Now for me it has never been an audible experience just a contact with my spirit that resonates my entire being and somehow I know it wasn't just my own self but rather the Father, the creator of the universe! I know that God is no respecter of persons and that I am no super spiritual person, but sometimes I just allow myself to be still and listen so if you have never had this wonderful experience let me encourage you to just sit and pray and listen you may just be pleasantly surprised.

The light up ahead

With writing these two blogs lately I have been giving a lot of thought to my past. I have noticed a very serious trend on my part that Satan has used repeatedly to rob me of blessings. I will just bet he has used it on some of you as well. He has encouraged me to quit right before my blessing would have come through if I had just stuck it out. I can not begin to tell you the number of times in my life where I was struggling with something and decided to just give up and go do something else and then later only to find out I quit right before my breakthrough. I am reminded of Moses and the hebrew people in the wilderness and that old song Canaanland is just in sight. The song says " Moses led God's people, forty years he led them through the dark and through the night. Though they walked through valleys, though they climbed high mountains they must not give up the fight, though they said let's turn back Moses said keep going Canaanland is just in sight.
I don't know who this is for this morning, but I just felt led to share this. I believe someone who reads this will be facing a battle and the easy thing to do would be to turn and leave, but I believe if you will stand firm and look ahead you will see theres light just up ahead and it is the light of the Lord himself bringing you into your blessing!

Jeremiah 18:3-4

Please read the following two posts with these scriptures

18:3 Then I went down to the potter's house, and behold, he wrought a work on the wheels.

18:4And the vessel that he made of clay was marred in the hand of the potter: so he made it again another vessel, as seemed good to the potter to make it.

So often the sin in our life will marr us, destroy us, rob us,hurt us, abuse us, we are truly marred by it, but if we are in the hands of our savior truly he will make us again a new vessel.

If you are reading this and sin has marred your life come back home Jesus is reaching out to you why else would you be reading this. JESUS LOVES YOU! He will help you if you let him please let him into your heart today.

Maybe you are reading this and you have never accepted Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior. It only takes a few seconds to change your eternity! Just say Jesus I am a sinner I repent of my sins and I ask you to come into my heart and be the Lord of my life. in those few seconds you became a child of the king, you went from darkness to light from sinner to saint. You are born again!

If you prayed the sinners prayer and got saved or if you came back to the Lord please let me know you can reach me at nattysdaddy@newwavecomm.net

GOD BLESS YOU ALL!!

Sin steals your blessings and your joy!

A few years ago I was working in an insurance office and there were two women agents at that time. One was a lady about ten years younger and the other about ten years older than me. The younger girl hadn't been saved long and had had a daughter with a man she wasn't married to. She was on the phone with him now and she was almost in tears as he was being extremely cruel to her about something, but it was painfully obvious to the rest of us this was all due to her previous lifestyle. The older lady turned to me and said we pay a high price for not following the Lord. She then went on to say he doesn't punish us for our past sins it's just the natural occurence for sin. That really stuck with me, because we have all heard our actions have consequences but I had never heard sins has consequences, but it is true ladies and gentlemen. So remember the next time you are tempted your decision in that split second will affect all the rest of your dats!!

Sin is beneath you #2

I just felt like I had to say this one more time

Please!!

Have more respect for yourself than to allow filth to have a handle in it. You are more precious than that. You are worth more than that. You are too good for that.

You may have lived surounded by sin all your life. You may be the poorest of the poor. You may be uneducated. You may be the talk of the town, but I want you to know that if you give your heart and soul to the Lord Jesus he will wash away all your sins, he will make you again a new vessel. You will be achild of the most high King and you will be too important to allow sin to ruin your life and steal your blessings.

A simple question

What have you done for the Lord lately?

Have you been fishing for souls?

Do the souls of your fellow man really concern you?

Do you really believe in a devil's hell?

Then what are you waiting for? Let's see souls saved for Jesus

Lord light a fire under us and make us realize people are dieing every day lost!

People need the Lord!!

When will we realize that we must give our lives for People need the Lord!!

Important Prayer Request

I received an e-mail yesterday from a brother in Albany, Kentucky by the name of Jimmy Shelley. Jimmy lost his precious daughter Tara six years ago that also took his father. Jimmy says the Lord has given him some peace, but still he would like to know why. When I read that I was reminded of the song "Farther Along" it simply says Farther Along we'll know all about it, Farther along we'll understand why. So many thing in this life we don't understand and just can't, but one day we will know all about it and until that day we have Romans 8:28 that doesn't promise us everything will be good, but that he will work it for our good!

Sin is beneath you!

I am convinced that the vast majority of the sin we allow in our lives is simply because we don't value ourselves enough. We don't think of ourselves as being above sin. As too good for sin. Now please don't misunderstand what I am trying so hard to say. There is one illustration I can think of that illustrates the point. Think of teenage girls for example, some of these girls in a possible effort to feel loved or for what ever reason allow boys to use them for their own pleasures. While some teenage girls know better and don't feel the need for meaningless encounters. You see those girls have the belief they are worth more than a one night stand (and they are, they all are) because of the value they place on themselves they won't let some jerk have an opportunity to ruin their lives no, no their life is much to precious for them to allow that. And so it is with sin and our lives. We need to recognize and realize that our lives are just too important and too valuable to allow sin to creep in and take our dreams and hopes with it. I was thinking just this morning how when Adam sinned it made his work become burdensome where as before it had been sweet. Do you ever feel like your working really hard but not getting anywhere? Could the reason be secret sin? The life God wants for you is so grand and so exalted that if you knew the magnitude of it you would value yourself far too much to allow sin to ruin it for you.

Funny Story

One morning about 4 this past week I couldn't sleep and turned on the tv (I am at work at this time, but I am allowed some sleep).I started to watch a Gaither special and for some unkown reason in the dead of night I was reminded of one of the most embarrassing moments of my life! I knew it was just too good not to share so here goes.

When I was married, my wife just absolutely loved those Gaither videos, so in my vain efforts to please her I took her to Knoxville to the Thompson Bowling Arena to see them. Well as we hit Knoxville I began to become more aware of the the fact that I must find a restroom or I would miss the concert and my wife would kill me due to moisture issues. (do ya understand what I am telling you here? Ssshhhh come closer I am going to whisper it to you as it is so crude......I had to go peepee). I am so sorry I know it is so vulgar, but the truth is the truth. I mean it was bad it was an emergency I thought I was literally going to bust. It was so bad I undid my pants in hope to relieve enough pressure that it would hold off. Now being in a big city and not knowing where anything is is bad enough (this was before GPS), but to have to go potty and not know where a bathroom is is even worse, and I knew I just knew if I had an accident my wife would never speak to me again and I was right cause she doesn't speak to me now over far less. Finally I spotted a sign for a restaurant and all restaureants I have ever been in have bathrooms so I thought I had found my oasis in the desert, oh don't mention water right now oops sorry. So I high tailed it in that parking lot and pulled around to the front. I didn't park I stopped right in front of the doors adn told Teresa to just keep circling till I come out and leaped out of the car forgetting or ignoring the fact that I had previously unbottoned them to relieve the pressure, but I was quickly reminded of this fact when I got around to the back of the car and the huge line of people waiting to get in and was in shock at my urgency saw my pants fall to my ankles!!! A roar of laughter filled my ears as a breeze of humiliation whipped at my knees. I quickly pulled them up and cut through everyone in the line to get to the restroom where I just barely made it in time, but now I had to go face this crowd who obviously by now knew that this fat boy couldn't hold his water, but I didn't care with the same urgency I cut my way back through them because now Teresa was almost late for her concert and she would make that laughing squad of strangers seem liek the welcoming committee on the Love Boat if I made her miss one note!

Everything old is new again!!

2nd Corinthians 5:17

Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold all things are become new.

Isn't this amazing! How a person in just a few seconds can literally be born again. They can go from darkness to light from sinner to saint. You know in this day and time there are many educated people that try to explain away God and say he doesn't exist, but one thing they can't explain away is the change! The change of a murderer, thief, or any sinner who comes to Jesus and is no longer mean and hateful, but kind and loving. How hardened hearts can soften like a child's. Explain that Mr. Scientist! It is no less a miracle than someone who had a physical ailment and miracously were cured!

Are you frustrated too?

I am currently searching for a new church and while I am very traditional I did attend what I call one of these modern churches yesterday. You know the kind with the songs on the wall. (I hate that!) Any who the young whippersnapper of a preacher, who in all honesty was probably a few years older than me ,even though he was very unconventional he said something that really stood out to me, and that is when a fisher isn't catching fish he get's frustrated (I am paraphrasing here) but that's true enough right?.Well we as Christians are called to be fishers of men are we not? Yet how many of us can honestly say we have even been fishing in the last year two years or even ten years? Could this not be the source of our mediocre lives? Could this not be the source of our frustrations? The fact that we know that we are not doing with our lives as we are meant to and our not living up to our potential. Even more sobering is the thought that thousands upon thousands of souls are dying each year and being cast into a devil's hell because we as a body of believer's are sitting back and not doing our jobs. Because we have chosen to chase after the all important dollar rather than on the eternal souls of our friends, families, neighbors and the common man, woman and child! There's a song entitled "People need the Lord" that says "when will we realize that we must give our lives for people need the Lord"? I ask you when?

Deliverance is nigh

Psalms 91:3

Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.

God will deliver you from the snare of the enemy! Just look up and rejoice your redemption is drawing nigh!!

Daily Reading Schedule

Reading Assignment through February 19th.

Old Testament

Leviticus 19

New Testament

Mark 1

It takes the average adult only 56 hours to read the Bible cover to cover so how can we say in a whole year when we have worked about 2000 hours and slept another 2000 that we couldn't find only 56 to read God's word. What about Christians who don 't even read for 5 hours in a whole years time. Imagine how much better and how much more blessed their lives would be if they did. The Bible can be a treasure book but if you don't know you have the treasure it will do you no good. Get in the word and find out what God is saying to you!

Prayer request

In my town Wednesday night a lady I believe I had once tried to sell life insurance to fell asleep at the wheel, and her five year old son died as a result and one of her daughters was seriously injured. Please remember them. Her name is Michelle Black and her son's name was Gabriel.

Faith without works

In this trying economy I am beginning to see something in my little twon in Southern Kentucky I never have before......... Homeless people..... in the cold with nowhere to lay there head, just like Mary and Jospeh on the night they brought the savior into the world. Lord help us to do something more than pray fro them.

James2:15
If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food,
16
And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled;notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit?
17
Even so faith,if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.

The Weekly Verse

This blog is a spin off from the daily verse. Due to working no less than 65 hours a week and everything else going on I just couldn't keep up the pace of a daily verse. I also lost the burden I had for the work. Still I want to do something for the Lord so I have decided on this site. I will make a post on this site sometime during the weekends I should be able to do that as I am generally off on the weekends. Thank you for reading and please forgive me for not being able to keep up the pace.
