Good Word for Today!!

PSALMS 40:4

Blessed is the man that maketh the Lord his trust, and respecteth not the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies.

Today it seems we give honor to people who do not deserve it and we do not to those who do. It is like we no longer know what is worthy of honor. We honor Celebrities of all kinds who live the most wicked of lives. So much of our culture is caught up in their sinful world. Now everyday people want to live just like them so in our society is perfectly fine now to behave in all sorts of sinful ways that will eventually destroy us. We reap what we sow plain and simple and people living these wild lives pay a high price. A very high price.

It is almost amusing as our knowledge and information has greatly increased we have somehow forgotten things that we have always known since the beginning of time. Things like Adultery is a terrible sin. Homosexuality isn't normal. Killing a child in a mother's womb is murder. Wake up people don't idolize people who are Jezebels, dope fiends and perverts!

Benefits of the Word

Psalm 119 verse 105

Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.

I am convinced that the vast majority of Christians today don't spend 5 minutes a day in God's word. We have plenty of excuses and reasons for it from no time to lack of understanding. The Bible does many things and one thing it does is guide us and without that guide we end up going down the wrong road in life. Let God's word lead you and guide you in the way you should go. I promise you it will lead you to the place you want to go.

What Jesus said to the accusers

John 8:7 So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him cast a stone at her.

As I read this, this morning it dawned on me that Jesus was speaking to the church as well as the Pharisees here. It seems as though most church people are not very forgiving and are quick to condemn those in sin and treat them angrily. In Luke 7:47 We learn that people who are forgiven much love much, but those that are forgiven little love little. If you think on it that's very true. People who haven't had to be forgiven for much cannot understand people who have been out in the world and had to fight the devil. People that have been in a bad way, appreciate God's goodness and mercy so much that they want to see that in other's lives.

Which ever category you fall into remember Jesus gave us a new commandment that we love one another as he has loved us in John 13:34 this is non-negotiable!
