Why are we here?

Have you ever asked this question? It can seem like a hopeless cause to try and find the answer. I mean the choices are nearly endless. I may not know the exact reason we are here, but one thing I do know is that it is not so that we can worry. I think that worry is one of the biggest attacks Satan throws at us. He knows if he can get our minds on worry, that he has accomplished a-lot. Not only has he stolen our time and creativity. He has severely wounded our faith and that is very detrimental to the outcomes of our lives. And certainly worry and stress has a major impact on the well being of our bodies physically. I was amazed about 12 years or so ago when I was the youth leader at the Tateville Church of God of Prophecy, we held a lock in one night and we had about 15 young people in attendance. I felt led during one of the devotion times to talk about worry to these young kids ages 10 to 15. I asked a simple question to this group while every head was bowed and every eye shut. I asked them if the devil fought their minds with worry. Every child raised their hands and more than half confirmed that they spent more time on worry than anting else. satan was robbing these children of their youth. Be strong and of good courage. God tells us over and over in the Bible to fear not!! In one place he said it does us no good to worry that by doing so we can't change anything anyway. Give all your cares, troubles, woes and worries to him today and take a long sigh of relief as your faith begins to grow and you know that God will work it all out for your good!

Isn't it amazing!

I think it is amazing how we justify our sins. For example, I once took a mop from work because they were going to throw it away. Now some would say that since the company didn't want the mop anymore it wasn't stealing. But I believe that it was stealing because I didn't ask permission for it, so in fact, it was stealing. I have noticed how in today's world we try to justify our sins away. It seems as though there is no difference in us Christians and the world today. Like for example Divorce and remarriage is widely accepted no matter the reason, drinking is o.k., watching dirty movies is o.k.,cursing is o.k.,and so is a host of other sins and we try and justify it all away. There is no substitute for living a holy life! Now I don't always measure up either, but I am trying to at least acknowledge my sin so I can ask for forgiveness, that is the real danger in sugarcoating our sin, because when we justify our sin we don't repent from it and it stands in our way from God's greatest blessing for our lives. And why do we do it? God is not fooled he knows what we have done and if we fall short of our calling he knows it. So just man up so to speak and face your sin and repent and watch God's forgiveness transform your life!!

Precious Promise

How many of you are tired? I dare say 95 percent of Adults are tired in today's fast paced hectic world. Well have I got some good news for you! Take comfort in this verse and use it to rejuvenate yourself. Just pray and use this verse as your authority and God will give you rest even when you haven't been able to rest.

Jesus said in

Matthew 11:28 Come unto me all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

29: Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.

30: For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light

Why anyone can achieve their dreams

If you are like me you had many dreams for yourself growing up as a child. And then somehow one by one they fell by the wayside for whatever reason. Wouldn't it be great if there was a way that we could recapture the optimism of our youth? You know what? We can! We just have to break out of our comfort zones and shake things up a bit and regain our faith in God! Anytime we suffer any kind of setback it can damage our faith, and let's face it honestly sometimes we even lose the belief that God is a rewarder of those that diligently seek him. It's almost like as we grow up we think we know better right? Wrong! As I getting even older I am realizing more and more it was me that gave up on my dreams not God saying no! It was me who just got tired of seeking. Didn't he say seek and you shall find? Well to seek something means you got to go after it and hunt for it because you don't know exactly where it is, you just know it is out there. God tells us in John 10:10 that he wants us to have an abundant life that it is the devil who tries to tear it all away from us, yet somehow we want to blame God when we don't achieve our dreams. We need to get good and mad at the devil for once and make him wish he had left us alone. (We do this by witnessing to and loving others and doing everything in our power for God). God promised us that he would give us the desires of our heart so that our joy may be full if we delight in him. So just do that !Delight in him with all your heart do everything in your power, go the extra mile to show God your appreciation in your life for what he has done for you and watch the things you desire be open unto you! Little things I do is I play my gospel music so other drivers can hear it, I always stand in church during song service or during the reading of the word, I always pray for the people in Ambulances. I try and tell people about Jesus. I daily tell God thank you. I make him priority in my life, after all he is Lord.... right?

Not of works

Ephesians 2:8,9

8:For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

9:Not of works, lest any man should boast.

So many people who live basically a moral life believe that because they are good decent people they are somehow immune from the fires of hell. We cannot save ourselves. If we could Jesus would never have had to die on the cross. Human nature is innately evil, and has been since the beginning of time. You have only to turn on the TV to see how wicked and perverse we truly are. Yet Jeus made a way we could become born again. By faith we accept the Lord trusting in his work on the cross and the second we ask him in our heart we notice a big change! It is his gift to us and we have no right to boast about our percieved holiness. It is Christ in us that is the difference. Trust his saving grace today just simply ask him in your heart and he will come in and be with you until the very end and then for all eternity!

The old violin

I just felt led to share this again. I pray it is a blessing.
The Old Violin
Twas battered and scarred and the auctioneer thought it scarcely worth his wile
to auction off the old violin, but he held it up with a smile.
What is my bidding for the old violin? Who'll start the bidding for me?
One dollar two or three?
But no from the room far back a grey haired man came forward and he picked it up with the bow
and dusting off the old violin and tightening the strings he played a melody as smooth and sweet
as an angel would sing.
The music ceased and the auctioneer said with a voice that was quiet and low
what is my bidding for the old violin as he held it up with the bow
1000, 2000, 3000 going and gone cried he!!
The crowd cheered, but some of them cried
We don't quite understand what changed it's worth?
Quick came the reply the touch of the Master's hand!
And many a man with life out of tune and torn and battered by sin
is auctioned off to that thoughtless crowd much like that old violin.
A mess of porridge, a glass of wine, a game and he travels on
he is going once he is going twice he is going and he is almost gone.
But then the Master comes, then the Master comes then
Jesus arrives on the scene.
And the thoughtless crowd never can quite understand
the worth of a soul and the change that is wrought
by the touch of the Master's hand!!!

Do you know his voice?

Has this ever happened to you?
Have you ever heard the Lord speak to your heart. In that instant you know it is him speaking directly to you. You know that you have heard from Heaven and you realize a glimpse of how awesome that truly is. Has this happened to you? If it has you know how precious those moments are. How sacred and amazing it is. Now for me it doesn't happen often only a handful of times, but I am truly thankful for each experience. When God speaks to your heart it is a very profound experience. Now for me it has never been an audible experience just a contact with my spirit that resonates my entire being and somehow I know it wasn't just my own self but rather the Father, the creator of the universe! I know that God is no respecter of persons and that I am no super spiritual person, but sometimes I just allow myself to be still and listen so if you have never had this wonderful experience let me encourage you to just sit and pray and listen you may just be pleasantly surprised.

The light up ahead

With writing these two blogs lately I have been giving a lot of thought to my past. I have noticed a very serious trend on my part that Satan has used repeatedly to rob me of blessings. I will just bet he has used it on some of you as well. He has encouraged me to quit right before my blessing would have come through if I had just stuck it out. I can not begin to tell you the number of times in my life where I was struggling with something and decided to just give up and go do something else and then later only to find out I quit right before my breakthrough. I am reminded of Moses and the hebrew people in the wilderness and that old song Canaanland is just in sight. The song says " Moses led God's people, forty years he led them through the dark and through the night. Though they walked through valleys, though they climbed high mountains they must not give up the fight, though they said let's turn back Moses said keep going Canaanland is just in sight.
I don't know who this is for this morning, but I just felt led to share this. I believe someone who reads this will be facing a battle and the easy thing to do would be to turn and leave, but I believe if you will stand firm and look ahead you will see theres light just up ahead and it is the light of the Lord himself bringing you into your blessing!

Jeremiah 18:3-4

Please read the following two posts with these scriptures

18:3 Then I went down to the potter's house, and behold, he wrought a work on the wheels.

18:4And the vessel that he made of clay was marred in the hand of the potter: so he made it again another vessel, as seemed good to the potter to make it.

So often the sin in our life will marr us, destroy us, rob us,hurt us, abuse us, we are truly marred by it, but if we are in the hands of our savior truly he will make us again a new vessel.

If you are reading this and sin has marred your life come back home Jesus is reaching out to you why else would you be reading this. JESUS LOVES YOU! He will help you if you let him please let him into your heart today.

Maybe you are reading this and you have never accepted Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior. It only takes a few seconds to change your eternity! Just say Jesus I am a sinner I repent of my sins and I ask you to come into my heart and be the Lord of my life. in those few seconds you became a child of the king, you went from darkness to light from sinner to saint. You are born again!

If you prayed the sinners prayer and got saved or if you came back to the Lord please let me know you can reach me at nattysdaddy@newwavecomm.net

GOD BLESS YOU ALL!!

Sin steals your blessings and your joy!

A few years ago I was working in an insurance office and there were two women agents at that time. One was a lady about ten years younger and the other about ten years older than me. The younger girl hadn't been saved long and had had a daughter with a man she wasn't married to. She was on the phone with him now and she was almost in tears as he was being extremely cruel to her about something, but it was painfully obvious to the rest of us this was all due to her previous lifestyle. The older lady turned to me and said we pay a high price for not following the Lord. She then went on to say he doesn't punish us for our past sins it's just the natural occurence for sin. That really stuck with me, because we have all heard our actions have consequences but I had never heard sins has consequences, but it is true ladies and gentlemen. So remember the next time you are tempted your decision in that split second will affect all the rest of your dats!!

Sin is beneath you #2

I just felt like I had to say this one more time

Please!!

Have more respect for yourself than to allow filth to have a handle in it. You are more precious than that. You are worth more than that. You are too good for that.

You may have lived surounded by sin all your life. You may be the poorest of the poor. You may be uneducated. You may be the talk of the town, but I want you to know that if you give your heart and soul to the Lord Jesus he will wash away all your sins, he will make you again a new vessel. You will be achild of the most high King and you will be too important to allow sin to ruin your life and steal your blessings.

A simple question

What have you done for the Lord lately?

Have you been fishing for souls?

Do the souls of your fellow man really concern you?

Do you really believe in a devil's hell?

Then what are you waiting for? Let's see souls saved for Jesus

Lord light a fire under us and make us realize people are dieing every day lost!

People need the Lord!!

When will we realize that we must give our lives for People need the Lord!!

Important Prayer Request

I received an e-mail yesterday from a brother in Albany, Kentucky by the name of Jimmy Shelley. Jimmy lost his precious daughter Tara six years ago that also took his father. Jimmy says the Lord has given him some peace, but still he would like to know why. When I read that I was reminded of the song "Farther Along" it simply says Farther Along we'll know all about it, Farther along we'll understand why. So many thing in this life we don't understand and just can't, but one day we will know all about it and until that day we have Romans 8:28 that doesn't promise us everything will be good, but that he will work it for our good!

Sin is beneath you!

I am convinced that the vast majority of the sin we allow in our lives is simply because we don't value ourselves enough. We don't think of ourselves as being above sin. As too good for sin. Now please don't misunderstand what I am trying so hard to say. There is one illustration I can think of that illustrates the point. Think of teenage girls for example, some of these girls in a possible effort to feel loved or for what ever reason allow boys to use them for their own pleasures. While some teenage girls know better and don't feel the need for meaningless encounters. You see those girls have the belief they are worth more than a one night stand (and they are, they all are) because of the value they place on themselves they won't let some jerk have an opportunity to ruin their lives no, no their life is much to precious for them to allow that. And so it is with sin and our lives. We need to recognize and realize that our lives are just too important and too valuable to allow sin to creep in and take our dreams and hopes with it. I was thinking just this morning how when Adam sinned it made his work become burdensome where as before it had been sweet. Do you ever feel like your working really hard but not getting anywhere? Could the reason be secret sin? The life God wants for you is so grand and so exalted that if you knew the magnitude of it you would value yourself far too much to allow sin to ruin it for you.

Funny Story

One morning about 4 this past week I couldn't sleep and turned on the tv (I am at work at this time, but I am allowed some sleep).I started to watch a Gaither special and for some unkown reason in the dead of night I was reminded of one of the most embarrassing moments of my life! I knew it was just too good not to share so here goes.

When I was married, my wife just absolutely loved those Gaither videos, so in my vain efforts to please her I took her to Knoxville to the Thompson Bowling Arena to see them. Well as we hit Knoxville I began to become more aware of the the fact that I must find a restroom or I would miss the concert and my wife would kill me due to moisture issues. (do ya understand what I am telling you here? Ssshhhh come closer I am going to whisper it to you as it is so crude......I had to go peepee). I am so sorry I know it is so vulgar, but the truth is the truth. I mean it was bad it was an emergency I thought I was literally going to bust. It was so bad I undid my pants in hope to relieve enough pressure that it would hold off. Now being in a big city and not knowing where anything is is bad enough (this was before GPS), but to have to go potty and not know where a bathroom is is even worse, and I knew I just knew if I had an accident my wife would never speak to me again and I was right cause she doesn't speak to me now over far less. Finally I spotted a sign for a restaurant and all restaureants I have ever been in have bathrooms so I thought I had found my oasis in the desert, oh don't mention water right now oops sorry. So I high tailed it in that parking lot and pulled around to the front. I didn't park I stopped right in front of the doors adn told Teresa to just keep circling till I come out and leaped out of the car forgetting or ignoring the fact that I had previously unbottoned them to relieve the pressure, but I was quickly reminded of this fact when I got around to the back of the car and the huge line of people waiting to get in and was in shock at my urgency saw my pants fall to my ankles!!! A roar of laughter filled my ears as a breeze of humiliation whipped at my knees. I quickly pulled them up and cut through everyone in the line to get to the restroom where I just barely made it in time, but now I had to go face this crowd who obviously by now knew that this fat boy couldn't hold his water, but I didn't care with the same urgency I cut my way back through them because now Teresa was almost late for her concert and she would make that laughing squad of strangers seem liek the welcoming committee on the Love Boat if I made her miss one note!

Everything old is new again!!

2nd Corinthians 5:17

Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold all things are become new.

Isn't this amazing! How a person in just a few seconds can literally be born again. They can go from darkness to light from sinner to saint. You know in this day and time there are many educated people that try to explain away God and say he doesn't exist, but one thing they can't explain away is the change! The change of a murderer, thief, or any sinner who comes to Jesus and is no longer mean and hateful, but kind and loving. How hardened hearts can soften like a child's. Explain that Mr. Scientist! It is no less a miracle than someone who had a physical ailment and miracously were cured!

Are you frustrated too?

I am currently searching for a new church and while I am very traditional I did attend what I call one of these modern churches yesterday. You know the kind with the songs on the wall. (I hate that!) Any who the young whippersnapper of a preacher, who in all honesty was probably a few years older than me ,even though he was very unconventional he said something that really stood out to me, and that is when a fisher isn't catching fish he get's frustrated (I am paraphrasing here) but that's true enough right?.Well we as Christians are called to be fishers of men are we not? Yet how many of us can honestly say we have even been fishing in the last year two years or even ten years? Could this not be the source of our mediocre lives? Could this not be the source of our frustrations? The fact that we know that we are not doing with our lives as we are meant to and our not living up to our potential. Even more sobering is the thought that thousands upon thousands of souls are dying each year and being cast into a devil's hell because we as a body of believer's are sitting back and not doing our jobs. Because we have chosen to chase after the all important dollar rather than on the eternal souls of our friends, families, neighbors and the common man, woman and child! There's a song entitled "People need the Lord" that says "when will we realize that we must give our lives for people need the Lord"? I ask you when?
